Yes, that line was from the worst movie in the Godfather trilogy but I had to come up with something to describe my current frame of mind.
Just when I finished Switchcraft, I'm in deep with revisions to a novella I wrote last summer. It's not too bad considering that I was in the last trimester of my pregnancy. But I have those too-many-espressos jitters without having inbibed any coffee today. This seems to be a regular pattern when I start or restart a story. Could I be physically addicted to writing?
Anyway, the coolest thing happened to me today! I went to the Borders store at South Coast Plaza to sign stock and Will, the sales manager, went on the store intercom to tell everyone about my book. Woo hoo! I admit that I did the "aww shucks" squirm while my husband smiled proudly and the Little Dude cruised in his stroller. But inside, I was eating it up!
By the way, if you haven't been to my website lately, check it out. I posted a deleted scene from Hot Tamara, starring Isa, my heroine from In Between Men. Also, I'm scheduled for some book signings and I hope you'll stop by!
Finally, the Fabulous Dana Diamond interviewed me for OCC RWA's Orange Blossom magazine and part of that interview is now on her blog and at The Writer's Vibe.

Yeah, I believe writing is physically addicting. For me, it's mostly cathartic...Of course, I'm not under the same type of deadlines and pressure that you are. LOL
And that was so cool of the sales manager! I love hearing about things like that.

Speaking of fabulous, that was pretty cool of the guy at SCP Borders. It couldn't have happened to a better girl. :)
Also, I loved that deleted scene. So, um, will we be seeing any more any time soon?

Dude, I forgot to mention that while at Borders, I hand sold an Emily Brightwell book! (THe power! The power!) Anyway, a very nice lady came up after the announcement and said that my kind of book wasn't her cup of tea. But she started asking about mysteries and voila, a fan has been born.

The green tea martini is something I discovered while researching for Switchcraft. Here's the recipe:
Green Tea Martini
• 1 oz. chilled green tea
• 2 oz. citrus vodka
• 1 tsp. Cointreau
• 1 tsp. simple syrup
Fill a shaker with ice. Add green tea, vodka, Cointreau and simple syrup. Shake well, strain into a martini glass, and garnish with an orange twist.
I may just have to make it myself!

Awwww, you'll be in Brea and I'll be in the Dominican Republic!!! I'm actually not back in town until March 14th. Bummer!!! But you will be in Miami right? I've already confirmed my trip there, so we'll get to meet then. Have fun, and I'll stop by the book store tomorrow, I'd love to start In Between Men on the plane ride out!
